Today, the Board of Directors of the Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE), held its 2nd meeting at the premises of the Center in Diplomatic Quarters, Riyadh.  The Meeting was headed by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa, the Saudi Education Minister and attended by Dr. Mohammad Thneibat, the Jordanian Minister of Education, Eng. Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the Emarati Minister of Education, Dr. Rasheed Al-Mokhtar, the Moroccan Minister of Education, the representative of UNESCO Director General, and other leading Arab officials in education field.

The Agenda of the meeting included several issues related to developing and improving quality and excellence policies of Education process in the Arab World. It included as well the annual financial report, projects of the Center for the year 2016-2017, the proposed budget, and aspirations of the Center for achieving its goals.

The Saudi Minister delivered a welcome speech for all attendees and highlighted the significant role of the Board for achieving the strategic goals of RCQE. He also appreciated the great efforts exerted by RCQE staff.

Then, Dr. Husam Zaman, RCQE Director General, delivered an introductory presentation on the regional and international activities and projected executed by the Center during the last year.

After discussions, the Board approved the execution of the proposed regional projects including: Evaluation policies and practices of K-12 Education, Education quality indicators in the Arab world, Review study on primary teacher education programs in the Arab world, Excellence Awards in the Arab World: Development Study, Research database on education quality, Translation for Quality, and MYSCHOOL Competition. The Board also approved the Annual Budget of the Center for the year 2016 to successfully implement such projects.

Finally, the meeting was concluded by speeches delivered by the members to appreciate the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman ibn Abdulaziz. They also highlighted the commitment of KSA to serve the goals of UNESCO and promote education Quality and Excellence in the Arab World.
