RCQE in cooperation with Gulf Arab States Educational Research Center organized a symposium on “7-12 teacher education programs in the Arab world”. It was held in Kuwait, 31/1/2018, under the auspicious of Kuwaiti Minister of education, Dr. Hamed Al-Azmy.

Dr. Omar Jalloun, RCQE deputy director general, stated that the symposium focusses on identifying the status of 7-12 teacher education programs in the Arab world and reviewing the various relevant international models. In addition, it aims at discussing views of experts, specialists, and the concerned officials about the best methods to improve and evaluate these programs. “raising the awareness about the significance of these programs is a key objective of this symposium”, he added.

The symposium was attended by elite of experts and several work papers were presented, including: “Renewing Middle and Secondary Teacher Education Policy and Programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, “Pre-service and In-service Secondary Teacher Education in Kuwait”, “Standards of Teacher Education in Member States in ABEGS”, and “Middle and Secondary Teacher Education Programs in Morocco”.

Dr Jalloun elaborated that RCQE strategy is to provide developmental visions for improving the education process in the Arab world in addition to coordinating all efforts for improving teacher education programs. “Our goal is to constitute and submit an Arab initiative on this concern to stakeholders and policy makers”, Dr. Jalloun said. “We initiated to organize this symposium to review and discuss these programs and get benefit from the outstanding ones”.
